From Mess to Mesmerised by Natasha Advani : Book Review

From Mess to Mesmerised comes as a hand-book to untie the hidden knots in our life. Natasha Advani is a life coach who helps people to figure out what they want from life. She had a troubled childhood and it took her years to find balance in her life.

Once she figured out her life, she made up her mind to help other people do the same. She helps people to find their hidden talents and unveil their secret strengths.

“The power to direct our focus on one thing and ignore others lies at the core of willpower – You cannot find success if you spread your focus on various things and that one thing that you wish to achieve would somewhere get lost in the heap.”

My thoughts about the book

The author has put good efforts in putting together great life lessons in this book. It was an inspirational read for me.

The real-life stories narrated in the book are powerful and tell us that we have living examples around us. We just need to open our eyes and learn from them.

The book is short and crisp. It is not repetitive at any point. The language is very simple and to the point. I liked the straight forward narrative of the book.

What could have been better?

With due respect to the hard work put into this book, I would like to point out a few things that did not go well with me. Sometimes, along with motivation, the reader looks for a practical solution to his/her problems.

For example, when we say follow your passion fearlessly, there are so many layers that go unaddressed here. Someone who is actually struggling with this phase might have issues with finances or some other life situation. The author missed addressing these issues.

Precisely, the book missed the ‘How’ aspect of certain life lessons. As a reader, I wouldn’t have minded if the book was a little elaborate.

Having said that, it is also true that if you really want to achieve something in life and you are ready to work hard for it, things will eventually fall in place.
